Chasing Waterfalls
Nestled along the Costa Ballena are some secret getaways that only the locals know about! On this tour you will see that Costa Rica isn’t only known for its pristine beaches and sun! We will take you to the other side of this fantastic place! What is more delicious than cooling off in refreshing cascading waters on a hot day while exploring the waterfalls and their natural swimming pools? Visiting three of them in one day! On this tour you will enjoy a trek through the mountainous jungle to arrive at several uniquely different waterfalls that will greet you with the relaxing sounds of nature and natural therapeutic pools while awakening your inner child. This is where our guests truly connect with the depths of Costa Rica, often spotting a troop of monkeys overhead or a pair of toucans watching intently as we dive into the waters.
Tours Details
Depart from Plaza Ventanas in Ojochal at 9 am to El Pavón where we will enjoy a short walk to the fresh waters and the scenery of this beautiful waterfall. From this location we will make our way to Boca Coronado where we will see the mouth of the Terraba River that feeds into the ocean. The next waterfall on our tour is a short drive to Uvita. Here is where the real fun begins! This waterfall boasts a natural slide and platform in which to practice your jumps. Finally, we will take you to the majestic Poza Azul Waterfall. This fun waterfall has ropes that swing out over the natural pools. Only our most daring guests will practice their Tarzan swings under the canopy of the mighty jungle to splash into the clean fresh pools below. Our tour will wind down and we will arrive at the Río Barú where a delicious barbecue awaits us before returning to our starting location in Plaza Ventanas.

Transportation – We provide bus transport from the meeting place to the start of our tour.
Food/Water – Water, native fruits, barbecue, snacks.

- Dry Bag
- Water Shoes/Walking Shoes
- Swimsuit or non-cotton clothing
- Binoculars
- Sunglasses with sunglasses straps attached
- Sunscreen (SPF 30+ and water-resistant)
- Lip balm (SPF 15+)
- Insect repellent (as needed)
- Gratuity for the guides (greatly appreciated)
Reminder: Items you bring must fit in your dry bag or they will be at risk of getting wet. When packing for this kayaking trip, think lightweight and compact.
